Embodied Painting
An Embodied Painting practice where movement becomes mark and painting becomes a record of lived experience.
Embodied Painting is an ongoing artistic practice. Each series begins with a song that becomes the catalyst for movement, intuition, and the act of painting. What emerges is never planned—it is discovered through the performance itself. Lightenup is the inaugural series in this evolving practice.
Rather than standing in front of an easel, I enter the painting physically. My entire body becomes the brush as gesture, rhythm, gravity, breath, and emotion guide each mark. The resulting paintings are records of the movement itself.
My work explores transformation, vulnerability, and the relationship between the body and the subconscious. Each performance becomes an act of surrender where intention and instinct meet. Layers accumulate through motion rather than planning, allowing unexpected forms to emerge across the surface.
These works invite viewers to discover their own imagery, and experience each painting as evidence of lived presence rather than a fixed image.
