Reconstructed - An exploration of transformation through deconstruction and rebuilding.

Reconstructed explores transformation through the processes of cutting, rearranging, and rebuilding. Each piece begins as an original mixed-media work created using acrylic paint, collage, drawing materials, and a variety of mark-making techniques. Rather than remaining a finished painting, the work becomes the starting point for something new.

I create my own cardboard templates for the geometric forms, refining each shape before tracing and hand-cutting the painted pieces one by one. The fragments are mounted onto slightly smaller pieces of foam, creating concealed dimensional layers and a subtle floating effect. They are then carefully rearranged into a new composition and mounted on rigid foam board or illustration board.

Through this process, color, texture, shape, and space take on new relationships, creating visual connections that did not exist in the original work. I often reuse fragments from earlier paintings, giving them another life within a new composition. The result is a process of both deconstruction and reconstruction—where letting go of the original form creates the possibility for something unexpected to emerge.

The resulting pieces balance structure and intuition while reflecting my ongoing exploration of transformation, emergence, and change.

All artwork is presented in open shadow-box frames, intentionally designed to reveal the dimensionality of the work. The space within the frame allows light to create natural shadows, emphasizing the layers, depth, and movement of each piece.  Each completed work is finished with an archival clear UV-protective coating to help protect the surface and preserve the artwork over time and is ready to display.   All prices include applicable sales tax.   Custom works can also be created to suit specific color palettes, dimensions, and layout designs.
